Appleton is a run-of-river hydroelectric facility with installed capacity of one MW, located on the Mississippi River, near Almonte, Ontario. This wholly-owned facility utilizes two, Canadian Hydro Components, fixed-blade propeller turbines and one adjustable-speed Andritz Kaplan turbine, with three Siemens generators. This facility began commercial operations in March 1994. Generation from this facility is sold to the OPA pursuant to a PPA that terminates in 2030. Management believes that the estimated annual gross generation from the facility will be approximately seven GWh.
