The 66 MW Blue Trail wind facility is a wholly-owned facility that is comprised of 22, 3.0 MW Vestas V90 wind turbines on 80 metre towers, and is located in southern Alberta, near Fort Macleod. This facility began commercial operations in November 2009. Generation from this facility will be subject to the terms of a TransAlta PPA that terminates in 2033. Management believes that the estimated annual gross generation from the facility will be approximately 180 GWh. The Blue Trail wind farm creates offset credits until 2021, and is entitled to receive EcoENERGY payments until 2019.
